One of my focuses during the month of January is to reinvest in my meal plan. As my subscribers know, January is the month I use to prepare my kitchen, as well as my home, for the upcoming year. I have already discussed my prep and inventory checklist that I follow in my emails that my subscribers receive every Friday.
Now as we enter the third week of 2023, my attention turns toward meal planning.
I follow theme nights for the most part and use what I already have on hand to plan my meals for the week. I take a look at my families calendar for the month and decide on the days that I will not be cooking.
Then I take a look at my inventory for the freezer, fridge and pantry and make a list of a few recipes that can be made with what I have on hand. Then I will take a look at the monthly meal plan calendar I send out and see what inspiration I can gather from there.
Once I have my meals chosen for the week, I enter them into my weekly meal plan and make a shopping list based on the items that I will still need to purchase.
Finally, I place a grocery order using Instacart, or go directly to Safeway.com and use their delivery. I use these options when the weather is not cooperating, like right now if you live in California!
