I am a sucker for a good morning routine. I love the romantic idea of getting up early in the morning as the sun is rising. The thought of sitting quietly while writing morning pages, followed by meditating for a few minutes. Then heading to the kitchen for a glass of lemon water and rolling effortlessly into my day. Do I attempt to follow this routine? GOOD GAWD NO!
My poor husband is lucky if he gets a good morning grunt out of me before my coffee. I usually manage to drink a glass of water while the coffee is brewing, so I guess that’s something. I would at least like a couple of points for hydrating.
It’s also feasible that I take my cup of coffee, go sit in my comfy chair and journal. hahaha NAH… I’m going to take that cup o’ joe and sit back in bed. Next up in my morning routine, hopping on social media. Following that up with a chat with my husband, now that the caffeine has made me human.
After coffee, I head to the bathroom for my morning skin care routine. This is basically washing my face and putting on moisturizer. I would like a half a point for moisturizing.
Next up is my daily workout. Look at me scoring more points! Once I have completed my workout, I head to the kitchen and make my husband’s breakfast sandwich. I definitely deserve a few good wife points for that, right?!
My intermittent fasting window doesn’t end until 9:30 am., so I will jump in the shower, get dressed and call my mother. I call her every day at 9:20 am. Hey, that entitles me to some good daughter points for sure.
That brings my total points for the morning to about 6 1/2! I don’t know if that’s good or not, because there is no point system for a morning routine. But like I said, I am a sucker for a good morning routine and mine works for me. It’s not romantic, but that’s ok with me.
